Washington, DC –Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) today acted to support our troops by voting in support of H.R. 2810, the National Defense Authorization Act. This bill begins to rebuild and reform our military by including billions in additional funds to begin to close the dangerous readiness gaps our troops are facing. It also gives our troops their biggest pay raise in eight years. The bill passed with a vote of a vote of 344-81.
“Today we took an important step to help the men and women who protect the homeland by passing the National Defense Authorization Act,” Rep. Olson said.” This bill gives our military a much deserved 2.4% pay raise and provides them with the tools they need to defend our homeland against threats from North Korea, Iran and ISIS. As a Navy veteran, I’m proud to support our troops and will do everything I can to ensure they have the resources needed to keep America safe.
