Cinco Ranch Branch Library Hosts Summer Family Movie Series

The Youth Services department at Fort Bend County Libraries’ Cinco Ranch Branch Library will feature “Family Movie Day” a free movie series for families with kids of all ages in July. The movies will begin at 1:30 p.m., in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy.
On Friday, July 14, library patrons will enjoy an animated comedy, released in 2016, about a group of pampered pets who live lives of leisure in a Manhattan apartment complex. Max is a beloved terrier who enjoys a quiet life and get-togethers with his friends when his human is gone. His sedate lifestyle is upended, however, when his owner brings home a sloppy mongrel named Duke. The two dogs instantly dislike each other, but they must put their quarrels aside when they discover a plot by a deceptively adorable but vicious bunny named Snowball, who is building an army of lost pets to take revenge against the human world. This film is rated PG.
The series continues on Friday, July 28 with a 2016 animated comedy adapted from a hugely popular video-game series about three birds named Red, Chuck, and Bomb. The trio’s anger-management issues make them outcasts on their island home, which is populated by a community of flightless fowl who pride themselves on being positive and cheerful at all times. When a group of green pigs arrives on the island, Red, Chuck, and Bomb are the only ones who find the swines’ activities suspicious. Do Red and his pals have what it takes to save the island from the pigs’ nefarious plans? This movie is rated PG.
The movies are free and open to the public. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. The library is unable to accommodate school groups or daycares at these activities.
The libraries’ licensing agreement for public showing of films prohibits them from releasing the name of the movie outside of the library.
