Dr Ngozi Funmi Okeke lambasts Biafran leaders in new book

Author criticizes C. Odumegwu Ojukwu and some Igbo people in ‘Biafra Mark II: Nigeria’

Northampton, England – “Biafra Mark II: Nigeria: Kaduna Nzeogwu, Kano Nnamdi: Myopic Fantasists” (published by AuthorHouse UK) offers a satirical look into Biafra, a secessionist state in Eastern Nigeria that existed from 1967-1970. Author Dr Ngozi Funmi Okeke paints C. Odumegwu Ojukwu, the leader of the breakaway Republic of Biafra, as a “myopic fool” whose leadership led to the foreseeable loss of millions of life, and destruction of infrastructures.

“Millions of children were brainlessly starved to death because comical, decorticate fools did not foresee food blockade. Stupid shepherds did not realize the overriding importance of food; they acquired and stored bullets, grenades, bombs and guns instead of grub,” Okeke explains.

“There is no sin except stupidity.” Oscar Wilde

In addition to lambasting Ojukwu and his comrades, the book also takes aim at Igbo people. Okeke, who is ‘Igboyo’ (her father was Igbo and her mother is Yoruba) suggests that too many Igbos seem “intellectually very coarse,” a characteristic she links to the current “agitation for a session in Nigeria by Igbos who are very efficient breeders, and are aggressively infiltrating other parts of Nigeria.”
