This summer, World Theater in Katy will launch a series of performing arts Summer Camps and classes for both parents and students to choose from. Summer camps include:

Burton Wolfe, World Theater Founder & Artistic Director; Theater Arts & Speech Communications teacher. Mr. Wolfe has taught Elementary School, Junior and Senior High, and currently teaches Acting and Speech Communications at Houston Community College. Burton Wolfe has been producing theatrical works and International Cultural Exchanges with China for two decades. He often says, “I love teaching Theater Arts; it builds teamwork, heart and soul…”
Mr. Wolfe has had the privilege of working with renowned movie stars and other performing arts celebrities including Audrey Hepburn, Mickey Rooney, Julio Iglesias and others.
Laura Bettis, Music Director: Vocalist, Music Educator, Choral Director and Composer; has earned her Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal performance from California State University and Master of Music Degree from Belmont University in Nashville, TN. Laura has performed and directed musicals with numerous professional Musical Theater Companies and is the Founder and Director of Opera Elegant. Laura has years of experience working with young age students to adult performers. She has been Music Director for many Broadway musicals that have been well received by diverse audiences. Her patience and attentiveness to children is well known and she has been called “Everyone’s mom”.
Winkie Ballas Jamail, Voice Coach & Dance Instructor
Winkie is an Educator With years of experience as a Producer, Writer, Vocalist, Dancer, and Actress. As an Entertainer, Winkie Performed at the MGM Arena in Las Vegas and Caesar’s in Tahoe; live shows have been on CBS, ABC, A&E and ESPN. Winkie played the role of MARY MAGDALENE in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR with Equinox theatre, Performed live at the ROYAL ALBERT HALL in England for the DUAL OF THE GIANTS; Produced, wrote, recorded 26 CD’s for Dance Vision International (all currently being sold); Produced an original orchestral piece to be presented to the KING of OMAN; Produced and Directed HOUSTON PERFORMS America!; She is a Certified EDUCATIONAL CONSULTANT, specializing in Instruction in Acting, Music and Dance for grades Pre-K through 12.
Assistant Instructors include: Cherish Bettis, Lawrence Wong. All of the instructors have years of experience and passion teaching young kids to adults. They all committed to bring the best of the students during this summer through the performing arts learning experience. All Theater camps will have the children perform on stage .
