Learn How To Design And Create Objects For 3D Printers

 

            Fort Bend County Libraries’ Cinco Ranch Branch Library will have demonstrations and instructional sessions on the use of different online resources to design and create objects for 3D printers in May. The classes will take place in the Computer Lab of the library, located at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy.

The class “Introduction to 3D Printing” will take place on Wednesday, May 24, beginning at 4:00 p.m. Library staff will introduce the 3D printer and explain how library patrons can print their own designs. Those attending the session will also learn about free websites that can be used to find 3D files or to create their own 3D designs.

The class “3D Designing with Tinkercad” will take place on Wednesday, May 31, beginning at 4:00 p.m. Learn how to use this online program to create objects for 3D printing. Attendees are encouraged to create an account with Tinkercad at https://www.tinkercad.com prior to the class.

The classes are free and open to the public. Seating is limited, however, and reservations are required. To register online at the library’s website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), click on “Events,” select “Cinco Ranch Branch Library,” and find the program.
