Igloo Headlines EDC April GA Meeting

Senior Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer, Dr. Jeanette Winters, speaks at the April General Assembly meeting.

The Katy Area Economic Development Council held its monthly General Assembly meeting on Tuesday, April 18 at the Katy ISD Educational Support Complex. The meeting, which brought together roughly 100 members and guests, featured a presentation by Igloo.
Many people that reside in the Katy area often do not realize an iconic brand, Igloo, resides within their own backyard. The Katy Area EDC was extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to host a leader of Igloo, Senior Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer, Dr. Jeanette Winters, at the April Katy Area EDC GA meeting.
Igloo, which is one of the top employers in the area with over 1,250 employees, calls the western portion of the Katy area home with its headquarters situated on a total 1.8 million square-foot among three-buildings. According to Winters, the Katy location offers the “most scalable and advanced manufacturing and distribution facility in the industry.”
This year, Igloo is celebrating its 70th anniversary and according to Winters, business continues to thrive. From its humble beginnings when it produced its first water jug to today where the company offers a variety of products from water jugs to keep your football team hydrated on a hot summer day, or a durable cooler to take with you on a camping trip, Igloo has become an iconic American brand. In line with its mission, Igloo operates with one goal in mind, “to create products that enable the pursuit of happiness (however you define it).”
“We appreciate Dr. Winters presenting at our meeting this month,” said Katy Area EDC President/CEO Lance LaCour. “Our area is home a diverse set of world-class businesses and it is always great to hear from them.”
