Flor Dimassi, mother of two Eagle Scouts and CEO of Global Speak Translations in Houston, says, “Scout Fair is, by far, one of the biggest events of the year for the Sam Houston Area Council, and this event is very important to the Scouts and their development. My sons and I attended Scout Fair every year, and they were exposed to so many exciting Scouting activities along the Merit Badge Midway. This is a great event for families.”

“My brother and I grew up in Scouts and looked forward to Scout Fair every year,” says Nabil Dimassi, an Eagle Scout and graduate of Ole Miss.  “We participated in The Pinewood Derby and outdoor cooking. One year we won the contest using our grandmother’s Dutch Oven Apple Cobbler recipe. Scouting was a life-changing experience for my brother, my mom and I. This event gives kids and their families a closer look into the life of a Boy Scout.”

Admission to Scout Fair 2017 is free. All attendees are encouraged to bring canned pet food to contribute to SHAC’s Scout Paws for a Cause, a special Scout service project.  For more information on Scout Fair and how to get involved in Scouting, please visit www.samhoustonbsa.org.
