Katy ISD Students to Experience Hands-on Forensics and Crime Scene Investigation

Event possible thanks to partnership with Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office 

What:           Thanks to a partnership with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, more than 700 Katy ISD high school students will have the opportunity to gain real world experience and exposure to careers in the fields of forensics and crime scene investigation during the 3rd Annual Katy ISD Forensics CSI Event.

Students currently enrolled in Forensic Science will participate in the three-day event where they will utilize skills they have learned throughout the year, such as fingerprinting and blood spatter analysis to solve a mock crime scene.  They will have the opportunity to work beside crime scene unit investigators and fire marshals, view canine arson detection, firearms and interrogation tactics demonstrations.

Forensic Science is offered at the Miller Career & Technology Center, Katy, Morton Ranch, Mayde Creek, Seven Lakes, Cinco Ranch, Taylor and Tompkins high schools.
