(Houston, April 25, 2017). Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) raised more than $180,000 during the 2017 NAM Endowment Fund Dinner.

The event took place at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott on April 11, 2017. Dr. Mary Neal, author of the New York Times best-selling book To Heaven and Back, was this year’s speaker. Proceeds from this event benefit the NAM Endowment Fund and promote its mission—to enhance NAM’s financial stability and to provide security for its future.

“It was truly a night to remember,” noted Carole Little, NAM’s President and CEO. “We are so grateful to all the people that came to support NAM’s mission of Neighbors Helping Neighbors. I also think everyone was captivated by Dr. Neal’s story of faith and message about our mission here on earth. I am truly thankful to everyone involved in making this event a success for NAM,” Little said.

Dr. Neal shared her transformational experience with an audience of more than 260 guests in an intimate interview moderated by Melissa Wilson, news anchor from Fox 26 and this year’s Emcee. Dr. Neal drowned in kayaking accident in South America, but miraculously, she came back to life to share her story of hope and faith in God. She said everyone has a mission on this planet and that mission is to love, trust and know that God is always present in our lives.

Special thanks go to this year’s major supporters: Darlis and Tom Fuller, Margaret and Ralph Daigle, Denise and Buddy Bolt, Cindy and Scott Chenoweth, Margie and Rick Crump, Jeannie and Nolan Lehmann, Hass Horizontal, LLC, Dr. & Mrs. Ron Young, Houston Methodist Foundation, Jackie and Pat Riley and the Watford Family Foundation. Also, many thanks to Kroger for the beautiful floral arrangements.
