Rosenberg City Council Approves Matching Grant for Downtown Building Restoration Project

At their regular meeting on April 18, 2017, the Rosenberg City Council unanimously approved the award of a façade improvement matching grant to the new      non-profit organization, Fort Bend Hope, for the restoration of their building at 927 Third Street. They plan to turn the building into a community outreach center. The City’s grant of $11,850 will be matched with an estimated $50,000 in private funds toward the repair of the front of the building. In addition, Fort Bend Hope will invest even more private money into the restoration of the interior part of the building. This project will remove a downtown eyesore and will significantly upgrade and enhance the downtown area.
