Game of Tiaras at KVPAC April 21 and 22

Katy Visual and Performing Arts Center’s (KVPAC) Prelude COMPANY, students ages 8-18, with little or no acting experience but a desire to learn and experience the acting craft, perform, April 21 and 22.
This KVPAC Production of Game of Tiaras, by Don Zolidis, is a comic story about when the aging king of a Magical Kingdom (England) decides to split his empire between his three daughters, Cinderella, Belle, and the Snow Queen (who in no way resembles a copyrighted character), terrible tragedy ensues. Terrible, hilarious tragedy. Combining the gut-wrenching plot twists of Game of Thrones and the soul-numbing despair of Shakespearean tragedy, this adaptation of King Lear will leave you dying with laughter as the body count mounts. When you play the Game of Tiaras, you win or you die.
Game of Tiaras is a bloody, bloody tragic comedy in two acts with apologies to Shakespeare. Director Gregory Magyar said, “What a joy it is to see our young actors so enthusiastic to tackle a new piece of theatre. All it took was to arm each of them and let them know nearly everyone dies in the end…but really, what a great way to experience Shakespearean themes in the early part of your theatrical training.” Gregory recommends purchasing your tickets online as the performances may sell out.
Show times are Friday and Saturday, April 21 and April 22 at 7:00 p.m., and April 22 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available online at www.KVPAC.org until noon on Friday or can be purchased at the box office one hour before each performance. All shows are performed at Katy Visual and Performing Arts Center, located at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center Complex at 2501 S Mason Rd, Ste. # 290, in Katy.
