Fire at Big Daddy’s BBQ Ruled Accidental

Harris County – On March 25, Cy-Fair Fire Department requested Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office
investigators to assist with a three-alarm fire at Big Daddy’s BBQ in the 4900 block of N. SH 6.
Investigators determined an electrical failure in the restaurant’s marquee sign caused the fire. The fire
was limited to the parapet void space on the front of the building. Minor smoke damage extended into
the actual structure.

“The fire originated in the letter “G” in Big Daddy’s BBQ sign and has been ruled accidental/electrical,”
said Public Information Officer Rachel Moreno. “Investigators estimate approximately $1 million in
damages from the fire, water, and business interruption.”

The Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office Investigations Division is responsible for fire, arson, and
explosion investigations in unincorporated Harris County.
