Hermann Park Conservancy is thrilled to host the fourth annual Hermann Park Conservancy Kite Festival on Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. This FREE, day-long family affair is sure to provide fun for all ages! All are invited to come out and fly a kite in Houston’s beloved Hermann Park or just sit back and enjoy a day in the Park while taking in the spectacular sights. Bring your own kite, grab a free one from H-E-B while supplies last, or purchase a new one from our kite vendor. We do ask that you leave your stunt kites at home due to crowds. Attendees are also invited to take part in numerous crafts and interactive activity stations throughout the festival including science and nature activities, face painting, and games with Soccer Shots, the Houston Texans, and Nestlé Pure Life! The performance stage at Molly Ann Smith Plaza will also feature various acts throughout the day including Texas Southern University’s Ocean of Soul Drumline HSPVA’s Young Performers and many more! Pinewood Cafe, the Miller Outdoor Theatre concession stand, and multiple food trucks will have delicious food and beverages available for purchase throughout the day. Visitors are also welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy on the lawn.

GETTING TO THE FESTIVAL: We expect several thousand kite fliers and spectators to join us for a gorgeous day in the Park, so plan your trip accordingly. We strongly recommend using alternative transportation into the Park. You can park off-site and ride the METRORail to the Hermann Park/Rice U station, ride your bike or rent a B-Cycle and utilize BikeHouston’s complimentary bike valet, pay to park at the Memorial Hermann Medical Plaza Garage or the Rice University stadium lot and walk over, or connect with Uber or Yellow Cab for a stress-free drive. If you must drive, please carpool!
