Collin College STUDENT ATHLETES EARN POST-SEASON AWARDS

Several Collin College basketball players earned All-Region and All-Conference honors for the 2016-17 season. The men’s and women’s teams compete in the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference (NTJCAC) in Region V of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). The Lady Cougars closed out the season with an 11-3 conference record, going 21-11 overall and winning a third NTJCAC Conference Championship. Collin’s women battled into the Regional Finals before being eliminated by Odessa College, the top-ranked community college team in the nation.

Collin’s men finished the season 7-5 in conference and 19-10 overall, earning them a place in the NJCAA Region V Tournament.

Collin College serves more than 53,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 100 degrees and certificates. The only public college in the county, Collin College is a partner to business, government and industry, providing customized training and work force development. In addition, the college operates the Collin Higher Education Center, which serves 3,100 additional students each year in partnership with The University of Texas at Dallas, Texas Woman’s University, Texas A&M Commerce, Texas Tech and the University of North Texas.
