Olson Invites High School Students To Apply For Youth Advisory Council

Washington, DC – Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) invites TX-22 high school juniors and seniors to apply to participate in his Congressional Youth Advisory Council (CYAC). Through CYAC, Olson gains insight from students and encourages them to work hard to accomplish their academic goals.

“This Youth Advisory Council allows students to better understand the inner workings in government and interact with local industry leaders,” Rep. Pete Olson said. “These high school students are our future leaders and I appreciate their insight and input on what happens in Congress. I look forward to meeting the 2017-2018 Council.”

The CYAC meets four times a year and includes a roundtable discussion on current events, as well as learning the pivotal role of lawmakers, experts and citizens in a democracy. These high-achieving students are considered Ambassadors for Congressman Olson and have the opportunity to provide feedback on legislation working its way through Congress. Completed applications are due to the Sugar Land or Pearland office by June 2nd. For applications and more information, please visit Olson’s CYAC page here.
