“Rick Perry was an exceptional governor of Texas who represented an energy heavy state, which includes Houston, the global capital for energy production. This experience alone gives him a unique level of expertise in dealing with issues that often come before the Department of Energy. Having worked with him before, I’m confident in his ability to successfully address national security matters that come before the DOE. I thank the Senate for confirming him and I look forward to working with him at the DOE.”
