FORT BEND COUNTY, TX – On February 21, 2017, Fort Bend County Judge Bob Hebert administered the oath of office to 2017 -2018 members of the Historical Commission. The Historical Commission of Fort Bend County works to encourage historical awareness and appreciation within the county. The Commission also bears the responsibility of locating and surveying cemeteries, archeological sites and other historical features in the county. The Fort Bend Historical Commission is a branch of the State of Texas Historical Commission and is guided by the laws of the state. All members are volunteers.
County Judge Bob Hebert said, “Commission members are unpaid volunteers who do outstanding work compiling and preserving our historical assets and oral histories of Fort Bend. I am very proud of their service.”
