Fort Bend County Libraries’ Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library will present a special performance for children by Houston Grand Opera’s “Opera to Go!” of The Barber of Seville, on Wednesday, March 15, beginning at 3:00 p.m., in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 8100 FM 359 South in Fulshear.

This family-friendly light opera, sung in English and Spanish, is recommended for children in grades 2 through 8. Music is by Gioachino Rossini, and the adaptation/libretto is by Kristine McIntyre.

In this new bilingual adaptation of Rossini’s beloved comic opera, language divides a young couple as much as a stubborn uncle. Opera’s most famous barber, Figaro, plays the role of translator as Rossini’s sparkling, witty score takes center stage.

The program is presented with the generous support of the Friends of the Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library. Proceeds from the Friends of the Library book sales and annual membership dues help to underwrite the costs of special programming and various cultural events at the library.

The performance is free and open to the public. A free hand-stamp is required for admission, and will be available one hour prior to the performance. For more information, call the Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library at 281-633-4675 or the library system’s Public Information Office at 281-633-4734.
