‘The Courage to Grieve’ shares one man’s account of losing his wife

David W. Ingram announces the publication of his memoir

SPRINGTOWN, Texas – In “The Courage to Grieve: My Story of Love, Loss, Grief, and Hope” (published by Archway Publishing), author David W. Ingram narrates his journey through grief as he learns to live without his wife, Kimberly.

The memoir describes Ingram’s love and devotion during his wife’s four years with colon cancer, and the aftermath of Kimberly’s death. “The Courage to Grieve” reveals how Ingram drew on his faith in God in an attempt to keep his sorrow at bay. Written during the year after his wife died, the book offers insights into how the author slowly transitioned from despair to find hope and the glimpse of recovery while coming to terms with the loss of his wife.

“I want the reader to know that even though they feel alone they are not,” Ingram says. “I want them to know that things can get better, they can recover, and that there can be a future of hope and love… (but) recovery is not for the weak at heart. A person needs to be courageous and be willing to fight to live again.”
