Career & Education Day: Preparing Houston’s Future Leaders Feb. 18 at George R. Brown Convention Center

Only one in 10 Houston students from low income communities will earn a college degree.

The Houston Hispanic Forum found this statistic staggering, so they’ve been making strides to improve it, by hosting the Career and Education Day at George R. Brown Convention Center on Feb. 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

More than 13,000 students from across greater Houston are expected to attend this FREE family event that will inspire and educate students on career and secondary educational opportunities.

Event highlights:

  • FREE – Admission, onsite childcare and lunch for all attendees
  • FREE transportation options provided by METRO
  • 55 different Career Path Panels for student discovery in the areas of, Arts, Business, Public Service and STEM.
  • Admissions and FAFSA assistance
  • Mentoring section to find motivational assistance
  • 110 Colleges, Universities and Trade School representation from across the country
  • Newcomer, immigrant assistance
