Tom Bolin Day Proclaimed by City Council

Tommy Brooks “Tom” Bolin served as minister in numerous capacities at First Baptist Church of Katy since October 15, 1976. Bolin gave guidance and spiritual inspiration to the congregation and earned the respect and admiration of the citizens of Katy by his whole-hearted and dedicated participation in many church and community projects.

Bolin has given generously of his time and effort, faithfully serving this community in various capacities too numerous to list, and has supported programs to benefit people of all ages and walks of life. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Reinvestment Zone Number 1 and Katy Development Authority, duly constituted authorities of the City of Katy created to promote the common good and general welfare of the city. Bolin has also delivered the invocation at numerous Katy City Council meetings.

With the love and encouragement of his wife of 66 years, Joy and their daughters, Pamela, Vicki and Kim along with eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren, Bolin has been a powerful influence for good in our community. Bolin is retiring as Minister of Administration at First Baptist Church, a position he has held since 2009.

On Monday, January 9th at the City Council meeting, Fabol Hughes, Mayor of the City of Katy proclaimed Sunday, January 15th at “Tom Bolin Day”. The City of Katy urges the residents of Katy to join them in expressing their gratitude to this outstanding individual for the spiritual leadership he has provided and for sharing his faith within the community. We wish him many continued years of happiness in all future adventures.
