Katy, TX (January 8, 2017) – January 20 through 22, Katy Visual and Performing Arts Center (KVPAC), Encore Players, the Community Theatre of KVPAC, will present The 39 Steps, directed by Heather Villano. Show times are January 20 and 21 at 8:00pm and January 22 at 2:00pm. Tickets are $18 for Adults, $15 for Seniors (55+) and Students, and $12 for groups of 10 or more.
Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have this fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre! In The 39 Steps, a man with a boring life meets a woman with a thick accent who says she’s a spy. When he takes her home, she is murdered. Soon, a mysterious organization called “The 39 Steps” is hot on the man’s trail in a nationwide manhunt that climaxes in a death-defying finale! A riotous blend of virtuoso performances and wildly inventive stagecraft, The 39 Steps amounts to an unforgettable evening of pure pleasure!
Director, Heather Villano describes The 39 Steps as “a play written to highlight the actor, and the art of acting. It requires little to no set, and provides the audience the opportunity to see actors in a unique way-they build and change the set as the plot unfolds and they change costumes and characters before your eyes-it’s an hysterical experience that is so fun to watch. These four amazingly talented men are playing 26 exhausting roles, four of whom are women, and are sure to leave you laughing and give you a true appreciation for the art of acting”
