A community parade for the neighborhoods surrounding Taylor High School.
Katy, TX, August 12, 2016– Harris County ESD 48 is proud to announce our continued participation in this year’s 7th annual James E. Taylor High School Band March-A-Thon. Our personnel have joined this neighborhood tradition each year since its inception but this will be the first time under our new name as a fully combination department.
James E. Taylor Band and Color Guard has been collecting pledges and sponsorships and will be conducting a number of short concerts, played by the entire 275-piece marching band, at the five different community locations (Taylor High School, Randall’s, Green Trails Park, Neighborhood Wal-Mart, and Epiphany Catholic Church) as well as in a few neighborhoods along the route. Residents wanting to support the band’s fundraising efforts can donate in person along the route and at the concert stops using on-site donation buckets or via the www.jetband.org website’s online donation button.
Holly Meredith, the event organizer, said “We are excited about entertaining our supporters, getting the Taylor community excited about the start of a new year, and using this opportunity to raise funds for the 2016-2017 marching season. Rain or shine, come cheer us on along the route and drop a few dollars in the bucket!”
