Local group learns more about hotel operations with a visit and tour.
On July 19, 2016, Omni Houston Hotel at Westside welcomed The Arc of Katy for an all-access tour of the back of the house of the hotel. The tour is part of The Arc of Katy Summer Program for youth and teens with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
The Arc of Katy provides a school year day program for adults, a summer camp program for adults and teens and monthly social activities for teens and adults. The Arc goal is to provide meaningful activities and community involvement in a safe and fun environment.
Patrick Shields, Director of Rooms at Omni Houston – Westside welcomed the guests to the hotel. “We are happy to welcome The Arc of Katy as it provides opportunities for its participants to be part of the community and we are pleased to have them visit and show them the day to day operations of a 24 hour business.
LuAnne Wanja, Program Director stated, “This has been such a wonderful day for our participants to interact with hotel staff, and learn hotel operations. We always look forward to visits to the Omni Hotel to feed the koi fish.”
