Public Transportation Implements Free Service to Flood Victims

Fort Bend Recovery route

FORT BEND COUNTY, TX – On June 13, 2016 Fort Bend County Public Transportation implemented a free-of-charge Point Deviation Recovery Route service to Richmond & Rosenberg residents affected by the recent Brazos River flood event. This service was approved by our Commissioners Court to operate through July 15, 2016.  The Point Deviation Recovery Route Service operated along a fixed route and kept to a set schedule.

Fort Bend County Public Transportation has recently extended the temporary Recovery Route which will begin the new schedule on July 18, 2016 and will run until further notice.  Similar to the initial Recovery Route, this route can deviate; however, in order for the bus to deviate from its fixed route, the ride must be scheduled at least 1 day in advance.  In order to schedule or cancel a ride, you may call 866-751-TRIP between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday and ask for “Fort Bend County Reservations.”

Reservations can be made between 30 days up to 1 business day in advance of the appointment time. Be sure cancellations are received at least 24 hours before scheduled appointment time. If a passenger is not ready or decides not to use the service, the trip will be considered a “no show” trip. If a passenger receives three “no show” trips in a 90-day period, their services can be suspended for 30 days.

For more information, comments, or concerns please call 281-633-RIDE or 866-751-TRIP or monitor the Fort Bend County Public Transportation website at www.fortbendcountytx.gov.
