SUGAR LAND (May 9, 2016) – Friends of the Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center – A Very Special Project of the Children’s Museum of Houston, gathered to celebrate the Hats, Gloves and Boutonnières: 13th Annual Fort Bend Spring Brunch inside the Char House at Imperial Market on May 3. Sporting colorful dresses and swanky hats, more than 130 guests enjoyed a delectable brunch menu (served by Demeris Catering) inside the Char House, which was exalted by LBL Event Rentals’ touch of spring décor. The brunch shined a spotlight on the Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center, which will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:45 a.m. on May 28, 2016.
At the top of the list of attendees were: Debbie Marcell, Gay Thompson, Jan Bartholomew, Susie Goff, Judy Schmid, , Nancy Olson, Carole Albers, Jackie Bergdoll, Joan Soland, Mayor Pro Tem Amy Mitchell and more!
Housed on the first floor of a 12,500 square foot repurposed historical building at Imperial Market (formerly known as Imperial Sugar and which is now being restored by Johnson Development), and with the mission to transform communities through innovative child-centered learning, six galleries will be managed as platforms for learning for children from birth to 12-years. The project is Imperial Market’s first establishment to open in its much-awaited commercial property development on U.S. Route 90 in Sugar Land.
