Katy Boardwalk District Delayed

Katy_1_Boardwalk_District_820538704Developers have been given a three month extension to reconsider plans for the residential/commercial project located south of Katy Mills Mall.
The Boardwalk District will include a nature preserve that will encompass an 89-acre lake. A much needed convention center and upscale hotel will compliment the luxury loft living communities, mixed-use retail space as well as a single-family home residential neighborhood.
Original plans blocked the view of the nature preserve and lake with the convention center. By redrawing the plans, residents will be able to take better advantage to all that the complex will have to offer.
The 2 mile walking trail is being constructed by the City of Katy at a reported cost of $3 million.
The delay will help the city planners and architects avoid future delays once the projects are started.
