In preparation for the 2016 growing season, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension offices in Fort Bend, Brazoria, and Waller Counties will be having a Winter Row Crops meeting hosted by the Fort Bend County Row Crops Committee. The meeting is scheduled for Friday, January 22, 2016 at the Rosenberg Civic Center located at 3825 Highway 36 South in Rosenberg. Program registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. with the first presentation scheduled for 8:30. The program will conclude with a lunch sponsored by Fort Bend County Farm Bureau, Capital Farm Credit, and Damon Farm and Ranch.
Information to be covered includes sugarcane aphid management, regulations for new cotton herbicides, an update on Waters of the U.S., budgeting and risk management, grain marketing strategies, detection and management of herbicide tolerant weeds, and a boll weevil eradication update. Presenters include faculty and staff of Texas A&M University, AgriLife Extension, Texas Department of Agriculture, and the Texas Boll Weevil Eradication Foundation.
